Thoroughfares are characterized by two attributes: character and capacity. They are appropriately assigned by Transect Zones, along with calibrated interdependent elements that include: right-of-ways, movement types, design speeds, number of travel lanes, pavement and sidewalk widths, curb radii and verge types. This illustration highlights the changing character of thoroughfares as they move across the Transect.
